My Favorite Sauces

My family is one of those who need a sauce to get through the dinner. I prefer the genuine taste of food and rarely use it, but all the men in my family (and there are three of them) can't imagine their life without it. Their favorite food is pasta and barbeque, so they do need some sauce to add to the dish.

When it comes to choosing the sauce, it is not that easy. When you go to any grocery store, especially the big one like Whole Foods or Bristol Farms you will see the endless rows of sauce bottles of different brands.

But which one to choose? Of course, a lot depend on your preferences, everybody knows that tastes differ. But I do know that it is important to choose the sauces with natural ingredients which are organic and free from artificial flavors. Those we regularly buy are Truff Pasta Sauce and assortment of Stonewall Kitchen Sauces, like Smokey Peach Whiskey Sauce, Garlic Rosemary Citrus Sauce and others.

Our family has a tradition to have barbecue every weekend and sauce is the most important thing here. Even though we don't live in the area known as the Barbeque Belt we have our specialty sauce that we like very much: Classic BBQ Sauce by Primal Kitchen. It is organic and is unsweetened and it just accentuates the taste of meat itself rather than subdues its flavor.

My elder son loves everything spicy and for those who like it hot there is Chipotle Cholula Hot Sauce imported from Mexico. It's really burning and has that original Mexican flavor that makes Mexican cuisine so distinctive.
There is a variety of Cholula Hot sauces like Sweet Habanero, Jalapeno & Poblano with green pepper and just Original Cholula Hot Sauce.

If you prefer Texas style barbeque Serrano Condiment sauce by YellowBird is definitely the best. Mild Buffalo and Medium Buffalo are also delicious.

But we use sauces not only with pasta and barbeque. I have a recipe of a mouth-watering cottage pie with Worcestershire sauce as a main ingredient. It is the sauce that ensures its original flavor.

Cottage pie is a classic British recipe which became Princes William and Harry' favorite in their childhood. It is ground beef prepared in Worcestershire sauce with mashed potatoes and cheese.

Even though we are not Brits and have not a drop of royal blood in our veins cottage pie has become our top meal which I cook at least once a week. In fact, my recipe book is all in sauce stains because I cook it so often.

In fact, adding a different sauce to the meal makes a big difference. You can continue experimenting with different sauces because sooner or later you will get bored with the same taste and would like to try something different. Fortunately, the sauce assortment in the stores seems to be never ending.

I know that chefs in restaurants keep the recipes of their signature sauces secret. Why not create your own unique sauce no one else can make if you love cooking and get inspired by inventing something new? I tried to cook some sauces and I noticed that I never managed to get the same taste even when I used the same ingredients. Every time it was delicious but unique. Another positive side is that I was sure that all the ingredients I used are organic and safe, as they were made by local producers. So, when I have free time I try to make the sauce myself to get the authentic signature flavor my family loves so much.

Usually I shop for sauces at my local grocery stores and online. Amazon has almost everything but sometimes surprisingly they don't. I was so excited to find my favorite sauces at Goldbelly. They teamed up with local restaurants and small vendors to ship all the tasty goodies nationwide. In order for the prices to be almost the same as in the local store, you can use coupons that you can find here. Goldbelly is one of a kind service for sure.
