- City of Houston Health Department information:
Fiery Food Exhibitors giving out SAMPLES ONLY can have a temporary food permit under the umbrella of the Houston Hot Sauce Festival. Each Exhibitor must follow the City of Houston "Guidelines for Food Handling at Temporary Events" and must complete and return a Pre-Operational Statement for Proposed Temporary Food Service Establishment. The Pre-Operational Statement form needs to be returned with the Exhibitor Agreement. **Any potential Vendor submitting an Exhibitor Agreement after August 31, 2008 will be responsible for obtaining an individual Temporary Health Permit from the City of Houston at a cost of $60.00 per day - City of Houston deadline 7 days in advance of event date.
All Food Concession Vendors MUST obtain a Temporary Food Permit through the City of Houston Health Department 713-794-9200 - on their own.
Misc. Retail/Arts & Crafts Vendors not applicable.
- Fire Marshal:
Exhibitors/vendors absolutely cannot have propane on the festival grounds at the Houston Farm and Ranch Club, One Abercrombie St, Houston, TX 77084 during the festival hours the weekend of September 20 - 21, 2008. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor/vendor to comply with all Fire Marshall laws - in particular the fire extinguisher regulations. Anyone breaking the Fire Marshall laws will be subject to a $500.00 to $2,000.00 fine. A "check-off" sheet will be included in your welcome packet to be signed and returned to the festival.
