There is something for everyone at the Houston Hot Sauce Festival!

The "Original" Houston Hot Sauce Festival, in 1999, was the brainchild of event promoter Carol Borge. Although there are many excellent fiery food events across the country, there had never before been anything like this in the Houston area. The combination of Houstonians' love for hot and spicy food and their fondness of theme events seemed a perfect fit - organizing the festival seemed a fun and logical thing to do.

Where else can you be so "hot" and have such a great time!

Chili heads pour into the annual event - ready to sample 100's of award winning vendor products. This hot festival is going into it's 8th annual event. Always in September - the Houston Hot Sauce Festival has become one of the hottest events to attend yearly. We constantly hear from fiery food "fans" looking forward to our upcoming event with plans to bring more friends and more family.

Proceeds from the Houston Hot Sauce Festival benefit The Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research. Festival Organizer, Carol is a breast cancer survivor and a Stehlin Foundation patient. After undergoing two years of successful treatment, the mother of two is living an active and healthy life. This is Carol's way of giving something back to the foundation that helped her through her illness.

All staff at the festival are friends and family that VOLUNTEER their time to raise money for the Stehlin Foundation.

Carol has a 14 year long, proven track record as a promoter/organizer of theme events. In addition, Carol has first-hand experience as an exhibitor (she used to set up at over 40+ events a year exhibiting/selling hand painted clothes - remember when that was popular?) ... This gives her a special understanding of the relationship between promoter and vendor. Carol truly believes: Without the Exhibitors there would be no festival! The combination of listening to exhibitors and attendees, and Carol's eclectic 18 year background as an Administrative Assistant, Marketing Director, and Advertising/Public Relations Specialist has given her the necessary skills to successfully put together highly publicized, professional, well-organized events.
